We Give Because God Gave

We Give Because God Gave

John 3:16

"For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

Praise the Lord, Beloved!

What a glorious season of the year we are in presently! CHRISTmas is just around the corner. It is a time when we celebrate the birth of God’s perfect Gift, The Lord Jesus Christ. As Believers, that is to be the focus, Amen? I don’t know about you, but I am being bombarded with advertisements to "buy! buy! buy!" in every area of the media, and in my mailbox on a daily basis. We are encouraged to buy gifts and” things” to give to those we care about, work with, fellowship with in some way. Scripture tells us to it is better to give than to receive, but let us not forget why we are giving. Our Father in heaven set the ultimate example. God knows how to give and He gives because He loves us! Hallelujah!

John 3:16 (New International Version)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

When God gave His Son we look to eternity in the receiving of it. Truly it was and is “The gift that keeps on giving.” We are not looking at the Three Wise Men who gave gifts to baby Jesus as our motive for giving. They are not who we emulate. We give because God gave. The gift giving of CHRISTmas is a reminder to us of God’s great Gift and with that pure motive for giving, it is a way to show the love of God. Commercialism has permeated the Holy event of the birth of God’s one-of-a-kind, unique Son: Christ Jesus. It has to be waded through to get to the simple fact that, in loving one another through gift giving, we are thanking God for Jesus, the Hope of glory.

John 13:35

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Dear Ones, as you go about your holiday shopping for gifts remember to give God the glory! Thank you Father that, through faith in your precious Son you loved us enough to give, we have whole and everlasting life. Amen.

2 Corinthians 9:15

Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and

the communion of the Holy Ghost be with you all!
